About :

There is always something to do at the zoo. Whether early or late, good or bad weather, the zoo is a hive of activity. For a few weeks now, the one-year-old puma girl Missoula has been sharing an enclosure with the Java leopard Sri Kandi, who is the same age. Missoula is a rare Montana puma breeding cat that was hand-raised at the zoo. Missoula is primarily supposed to learn "cat behavior" from the Java leopard. There is also news about the giraffes at the zoo. The little male giraffe is to meet the water buffalo for the first time, which will share the enclosure with the giraffes in the future. District animal keeper Claudia Walther is responsible for the giraffes, among other things. When the zoo is hit by a violent thunderstorm, she has the opportunity for the first time to observe the behavior of her charges in an extremely exceptional situation. In addition to the thunderstorm, there are other exceptional situations that the giraffes at the zoo have to come to terms with. After the death of the herd leader, her son now has the say. A situation that the other giraffes still have to get used to. In order to give the giraffes stability during this time of upheaval, the keepers are particularly keen to maintain contact with the animals. Despite their sadness, the keepers are in a positive mood because life in the zoo must go on. Elsewhere in the zoo, a resident is being prepared for a long journey. Anteater Danita, the ninth cub of anteater Griseline, who was born in Berlin Zoo in 2011, is soon to live in Greece. Before Danita can set off on her big journey, however, she must first get used to the transport cage. The zookeepers are coming up with all sorts of ideas to get the 60 kg anteater to get into the transport box. Of course, there is a lot of monkey business among the monkeys in the zoo. The gorillas, who are much more jealous of food than other great apes, give silverback Ivo a few treats. Be careful that the female gorillas don't get jealous... But the keepers have more in store than just tasty bananas to ensure that Ivo doesn't get bored during the day at the zoo. The two zoo residents Hera and Solar, a species of primate from West Africa, have become parents for the first time! Unfortunately, the mother monkey did not accept her young after the birth, so the zookeepers are currently looking after the baby monkey around the clock. Also on "Panda, Gorilla & Co.": A terribly nice ostrich family will soon have offspring, hippo Max keeps the keepers on their toes, and there's a baby boom in the reptile area. First broadcast: 2013 --- "Animals are going on!" here on our channel for animal videos, from fluffy to shaggy and scaly to feathery.
