Rather than following the standard organisation of the Codex Astartes, the Space Marines themselves are drawn from many different Chapters. These Chapters have sworn sacred oaths to muster a unit of Space Marines specifically for this task. Warriors are assembled to fight wherever and whenever they are needed. Gigantic fortresses orbit desolate worlds at the edges of the galaxy, keeping a constant watch on potential xenos forces. There are also several secret bases dotted around the Imperium, providing a launching pad for their crusades. Warriors who fight have the honour of painting their armour black (to show their service to the Emperor), leaving one shoulder pad bearing the original insignia of the Chapter the Marine hails from. Although armour is painted black, it is never painted all black, as this action would dishonour the armour's Machine Spirit. They are also equipped with a new shoulder pad bearing the symbol of the Deathwatch on the other side. Once in service with the Deathwatch, there is no set length of service, rather it is as long as the commander deems necessary. Each Space Marine may serve a discrete amount of time, or for the duration of a mission, which may be several years. Once the mission is complete, the Space Marine is allowed to return to his chapter, under oath of silence, as his duty has been fulfilled. The length of time a Space Marine serves on the Deathwatch varies greatly. It may last for a single mission, decades, or even centuries. The length of their service depends on a number of factors, not the least of which is the immediate needs of their Watch Fortress. ----------------------------------------------------------- BECOME A MEMBER Kingdom Wargames Store: https://kingdomwargames.com/kw/todoes... ------------------------------------ ★FOLLOW ME ON MY OTHER NETWORKS★ ►Twitter: / juanman66015415 ►Facebook: / todoestrategia --------------------------------------------------- Greetings.
