The forecast from Meteo Parapente predicted a westerly wind. A base height of 2100 m with 2/8 cumulus clouds was also expected in the area around Lake Tegernsee. Just before I fell asleep, the idea popped into my head to get to know the Wallberg and fly as far as possible towards Traunstein. I travelled there by train and bus (quite an odyssey via Munich East and the obligatory delays, 3 hours travel time). The timing was good, as the thermals kicked in on Wallberg when I arrived. The flight to the Inn Valley was new territory for me personally and therefore a beautiful and exciting tour of discovery. I would have been completely happy with Kufstein, as you can comfortably travel back to Traunstein from there with the Germany ticket. Despite the low altitude, the Zahmer Kaiser climbed quickly again. So the onward flight to Kössen was a real pleasure.
