Grammeni Oxya is located at the northeastern end of the former province of Nafpaktia in the Prefecture of Aitoloakarnania and is built at an altitude of 1,130 meters[3], on the northwestern slopes of Vardousia and is one of the most mountainous villages of Aitoloakarnania and Greece.[4] The village, perched on the eastern slopes of Mount Oxya, extends to the rapid Evinos (i.e. the district of Kato Grammeni Oxya), with Vardousia as a horizon. It is 89 km away. NE from Nafpaktos and 13 km. B from Artotina. Small houses scattered among chestnut, walnut and orchards and surrounded by groves of beeches, firs and oaks make up its image. The time of acquisition of the village is lost in the depths of time. The fact that the site is strewn with various ceramics, jars, carved stones, inscribed plaques, traces of an old clay aqueduct and visible ruins of buildings lead to the conclusion that this area has been inhabited since ancient times.
