In the presence of the Church, they have borne witness to your charity; you will do well to facilitate their journey in a manner worthy of God. For for his name they set out, taking nothing from the Gentiles. We must therefore support such men in order to be co-workers with the truth. – Word of the Lord. Psalm (Ps 111 (112), 1-2, 3-4, 5-6) R/ Happy is he who fears the Lord. or: Alleluia! (Ps 111, 1a) Happy is he who fears the Lord, who loves his will completely! His lineage will be powerful on earth; the race of the righteous is blessed. Riches flow into his house; his righteousness will stand forever. A light for the upright in heart, he has risen in the darkness, a man of justice, tenderness and pity. A good man has pity, he shares; he conducts his affairs with uprightness. This man will never fall; the righteous will always be remembered. Gospel “Will God not avenge his elect, who cry to him day and night? » (Lk 18:1-8) Alleluia. Alleluia. Through the proclamation of the Gospel, God calls you to share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. Alleluia. (cf. 2 Th 2:14) Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint Luke At that time, Jesus told his disciples a parable about the need for them to pray always and without losing heart: “There was in a city a judge who did not fear God or respect man. In that same city, a widow came to him and asked, ‘Give me justice against my adversary.’ For a long time he refused; then he said to himself, ‘Even though I do not fear God or respect anyone, since this widow is beginning to bother me, I will give her justice so that she will no longer keep coming to torment me.’” The Lord added: “Listen carefully to what this judge who is devoid of justice says! And will not God avenge his own elect, who cry out to him day and night? Does he make them wait? I tell you, he will avenge them quickly. Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?” – Let us acclaim the Word of God.
