Even without a "ban" on gas and oil heating, wood pellets are on the rise: While the Federal Ministry of Economics is working on a ban on fossil fuels, wood pellets have been manufactured in Döllnitz near Pressath for over a year. Plant manager Wilhelm Planner showed us how production works in one of the largest and most modern pellet plants in Germany and what makes his product so special. According to the latest reports, the Ministry of Economics is working on a "ban" on gas and oil heating. The new law should make it possible to achieve climate protection goals. From 2024 onwards, it may be possible to only install heating systems that use at least 65 percent renewable energy. Wood pellets, such as those produced by Ziegler Naturenergie GmbH in Pressath, burn in a CO2-neutral way. When burned, only the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) that the wood absorbed during its growth is released. Of course, CO2 is also released during the transport of the raw material and during the production process. But this is precisely where significant savings and optimization can be made. It was precisely these strengths that were the main focus when designing the pellet plant in Döllnitz. ▬ About us ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ We summarize all the important news from northern Upper Palatinate on OberpfalzECHO.de!
