50 tonnes deadweight, 15 metres crane reach and a net lifting capacity of 4.8 tonnes at full reach: these are the impressive performance data of the IMPEX Hannibal T50: a huge crawler harvester that picks fully grown trees like flowers and lifts them out of the stands while standing. The Vieghofer Holz company from Ottenschlag in the Waldviertel uses two of these giants. We were allowed to accompany one of them with the camera for this video. We'll look at what happens next with the wood in the next video. Together with the Sennebogen company, we then visit the largest sawmill in Europe, where around 2.2 million cubic metres of wood are processed every year using the latest technology.
