Why are women underrepresented in science and engineering? This is the question asked by Zinnya Del Villar, one of the first Data Scientists. How come women don't go into science subjects at university when many excel in their BAC S? Are there really toys for boys and girls? Through her talk, Zinnya leads us to ask ourselves questions about the vision of women in our society through a certain unconscious education that we are taught. To answer this question, Zinnya examines her past and the reasons why she chose this path despite having been raised in a country where the place of women still tends to be imposed. Having grown up with a mathematician father, Zinnya was passionate about mathematics and computer science, which were booming during her youth. Today, she is a Data Scientist, creating algorithms responsible for collecting and analyzing data on Internet users. However, Zinnya quickly realized how few women there were in her field and did not understand. Why do women who get better results in their baccalaureate than boys in scientific fields then disappear into the system? Where do these intelligent women who are underrepresented in these sectors go? This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community.
