The harsh conditions of the polar tundra dictate their own rules and features, it is always difficult here! Let me remind you that the polar night comes in December - darkness until spring. You have to do all your work in the dark and terrible cold! And in the spring, the entire tundra will be remembered for its water mass and the hut will stand for a long time on a lonely island in complete isolation. The proximity to the sea gives salt water almost everywhere, even in the rivers it is salty due to active tides. The hermit takes fresh water from the only lake on the hill, carries it by hand - Uncle Andrey does not have a snowmobile or a reindeer sled - his age already says so ... I never cease to be convinced - the NORTH is for strong, hardy people, for those strong in spirit! The NORTH hardens people or kills .... Uncle Vasya came with us on an old snowmobile, we persuaded him to stay the night so that we could go together the next day, but he refused and left alone. Looking ahead, I will say - we found his snowmobile halfway there, Uncle Vasya walked to the village all night at -15 degrees, lay down three times, but an hour later he froze and walked again, he covered 17 km on foot through the featureless tundra without a flashlight, .... and he is 65 years old! as well as this lonely hut, in which the hermit Andrey has lived for 15 years....
