At the beginning of May 2016, we took the Ikarus to Hungary for a vehicle meeting. The video gives a small impression of the outward journey. The meeting point was near Zschopau, where we then drove along the toll motorways and expressways to Tapolca. The route took us past Prague, Brno, Bratislava and Györ. Our hotel was right on Lake Balaton. We left at 6 a.m. and arrived at around 9 p.m. The 750 km journey was originally scheduled to take 12 hours, but traffic jams, minor disruptions and queues at the toll booths meant it took longer. I drove the Ikarus 256.50 E (258) most of the time. In between, we also took a ride in the Chemnitz CVAG Ikarus 280. It has been converted and can drive at 90 km/h with the D10 (245 hp) and the longer axle ratio.
