On Saturday, June 15, 2024, at least for one day, the former glory of the once dominant Bumblebees managed to return to the Vlár track. Even at the beginning of the millennium, locomotives of the 770 and 771 series provided the transport of freight trains from Brno to Veselí nad Moravou. Machines 771.099-9 of ČD Cargo and Slovak 770.095-8 leased by Trans Rapid helped to evoke this memory. She skillfully made Kyjovsko sound with her unmufflered grunt. In the end, instead of the planned April date, when both locomotives were shut down due to a malfunction and undergoing repairs, our last double-track train was only seen from Ostrava two months later. They were already transported the day before the event, intended for railway documentarians, on the continuous freight train 62008 to Otrokovice. Here the locomotives retired and underwent minor appearance modifications in accordance with the period. A set of twenty Falls cars, which had recently passed through the workshops, were already waiting for them at the transfer station of the Continental siding, so they were in very good, almost mint condition, unsprayed. The next day, shortly after dawn, more than 500 tons are put into motion. The train still has to travel along a less photogenic section, under the copper web, to Moravské Písek and then to Bzenc. The official ride for railway enthusiasts from the Czech Republic, Germany and Austria has already started from here. This was followed by a drive to Kyjov with an interspersed drive to Vlkoš. Ninety-nine posed between four mechanical departure lights in Kyjov. Next is the drive to Slavkov, the Nemotice station, which is completely mechanical, must not be missed. But time flies inexorably and you have to make it to the departure lights in Slavkov before noon. The train then goes back to Kyjov, again with a trip to Vlkoš inserted. The commemorative event has moved into the second half and it is necessary to arrive in time to Brno-Maloměřice, where both locomotives left the train and gradually returned to fulfill the tasks of normal operation. A big thank you goes to ČD Cargo for their cooperation, without which this apparently unrepeatable event could not have taken place. In the future, archaic security devices and probably also six-axle machines from ČKD will disappear.
