He was born in Silyvria in Eastern Thrace, was ordained a priest in Alexandria, he was the director of the Rizario Ecclesiastical School for 14 years. Agios Nektarios in the last years of his life ended up in Aegina, rebuilt the Zoodochos Monastery and renamed it Agia Triada Monastery. He was treated at the Aretaiio Hospital and died defeated by cancer. His holy relics are miraculous to this day.
