On September 10th, 2022, a good friend and I set off at 7:16 a.m. with 112 481 and the Lipsia Erlebnisreisen special train from Leipzig to Glauchau. From there, 35 1097 took over to Neuenmarkt Wirsberg for the big steam locomotive spectacle with 7 operational steam locomotives. 001 180, 01 0509, 01 1519, 35 1097, 41 018, 44 2546 and 52 8195. To mark the 40th anniversary of IGE Erlebnisreisen, many shuttle trains ran from Neuenmarkt Wirsberg to Marktschorgast and back. We also took part in 4 shuttle trips. An unforgettable experience. In the afternoon, 35 1097 and 01 1519 took us back to Glauchau. From there we continued with 112 481 to Leipzig. 15 hours of nostalgic railway travel. Unforgettable!
