On December 20th, 2024 I was at the Fichtelbergbahn and was able to take some nice pictures in beautiful snow and great weather. I traveled from Kurort Oberwiesenthal station to Cranzahl station, unfortunately this trip was not with the steam locomotive but with the diesel locomotive, the steam locomotive was hanging at the end of the train. On the return trip the diesel locomotive was coupled to the steam locomotive and so the steam locomotive also drove. If you are wondering why so many carriages run in winter, 4 carriages were for a group and to warm up the carriages they drove with the carriages, and since the steam locomotive cannot pull so many carriages the diesel locomotive was in use.
