Two noble families of Verona, the Montecchi and the Capulet, have hated each other for a long time, and it is from these families that two lovers come who will become famous thanks to their tragic story. The story begins with a street fight between the servants of the two families, interrupted by Escalo, the prince of Verona. Count Paris, on the other hand, asked the Capulet family for the hand of their daughter, Juliet. Romeo, from the Montecchi family, is in love with Rosalina, but she has vowed not to marry. Mercutio and Benvolio try to make Romeo forget about this love and go in disguise to the Capulet family house. Romeo hopes to see Rosalinda at the ball, but meets Juliet instead. The two exchange only a few pleasantries and kiss. He then goes to the balcony of the Capulet house and declares his love to Juliet. The next day Franciscan Father Lorenzo marries the two, hoping that peace will be made between the two families. After a while Tebaldo, Juliet's cousin, meets Romeo and challenges him to a duel. Romeo wants to avoid the fight, but ends up killing Tebaldo. Romeo is sentenced to exile. Juliet's parents, at the same time, fix the date of her marriage with Paride. Juliet desperately goes to Father Lorenzo, who devises a plan: he gives Juliet a medicine that makes her appear dead for 42 hours, in order to postpone the wedding with Paride. Juliet is "buried" in the family vault. When Romeo learns of his lover's "death", he returns to Verona, sneaks into the Capulet family's crypt, and, next to his lover's body, drinks the poison he had procured ahead of time. Meanwhile, Juliet wakes up and, seeing Romeo dead, commits suicide by sticking a dagger in her body.
