Wild Embers (1953) Director: Hugo Fregonese Screenwriters: Philip Yordan Stars: Gary Cooper, Barbara Stanwyck, Ruth Roman Genre: Action, Adventure, Drama, Western Country: United States Language: German Release date: September 16, 1953 (United States) Location: Estudios Churubusco - C. Atletas 2, Country Club Churubusco, Coyoacán, Mexico City, Distrito Federal, Mexico(Studio) Summary: In a hypothetical country in South America, Jeff Dawson and his partner Dutch Peterson have invested all their savings in a lease to explore for oil. However, their expectations are dashed when bandits blow up the oil well's drilling rig with dynamite, stranding them in the city with no money. In desperation, they take the risky haul of nitroglycerin to raise $800.00 and Dutch is shot in the leg by street thieves; but Jeff finds out that their employer is a fraud and they are not being paid for their work. When their former friend Paco Conway meets them, Jeff learns that he is a local tycoon and is married to Marina Conway, who had a past with him. Paco hires Jeff as his foreman to help him with his eighteen oil wells while Dutch recovers in the hospital. Meanwhile, the criminals pressure Paco to pay $50,000 or they will blow up his oil wells, and Marina rekindles her love and desire for Jeff, leading the trio to tragedy. Reviews: They are all excellent, Gary Cooper as a seasoned veteran of various disasters in the oil fields, Anthony Quinn who is at home as a Mexican and doing well with his oil business in Mexico and his wife Barbara Stanwyck who as always steals the show. Anthony Quinn is the one who really lives it up in his own kingdom of infinite resources and generosity, while Gary Cooper is reserved and strictly self-controlled but still in control of the situation, while all the passion is in Barbara Stanwyck who, fed up with a life of frustration, never satisfied and constantly despairing because she has lost the only man she has really loved, is majestically aloof and waits for her chance while her rival Ruth Roman never becomes more than an object of her contempt. Ward Bond is the sympathetic partner who wants to get out from the start, but who has to pass several unpleasant tests to finally succeed, and the end is something of a sad showdown in which all passion has fizzled out, all love has been lost and a future holds no promise. It is a great drama, but overall quite empty, more an episode than a story, and the Mexicans were not happy about this film. They threatened the film company with permanent banishment. - written by "clanciai" on IMDb.com Also known as (AKA): (Original title) Blowing Wild Argentina Viento salvaje Australia Blowing Wild Austria Jeff Austria Wilde Glut Belgium De wilde rukwind(Flemish) Belgium Le souffle sauvage(French) Brazil Sangue da Terra Canada Blowing Wild(English) Canada Le souffle sauvage(French) Denmark Flammer over Mexico(re-release title) Denmark Strandet i Mexico Finland Mustaa kultaa France Le Souffle sauvage Greece Aima sto mavro hrysafi(re-release title) Greece Stin ormi tou pathous(transliterated title) Greece Στην ορμή του πάθους Hungary Kifulladt vad India Blowing Wild(English) Italy Ballata selvaggia Japan吹き荒ぶ風(Japanese) Netherlands Mexicaans goud Poland Płynne złoto Portugal Vento Selvagem Romania Suflul salbatic Soviet Union Дующий ветер(Russian) Spain Soplo salvaje Sweden När marken bränner Turkey Müthiş mücadele(Turkish) United Kingdom Blowing Wild United States Blowing Wild Venezuela Viento salvaje West Germany Jeff(new title) West Germany Wilde Glut West Germany Bloody South(new title) ✘ Website: https://www.grjngo.de ► Don't miss any more Western films: https://bit.ly/grjngo-abo FOLLOW US! ✘ Facebook - https://bit.ly/grjngo-de-facebook SUPPORT US! ✘ Become a member - https://bit.ly/3lCFHYh MORE MOVIES! ► Spaghetti Western: https://bit.ly/italowestern ► All playlists: https://bit.ly/alle-playlists #westernfilme #cowboyfilme #italowestern COPYRIGHT: All of the films published by us are legally licensed.
