In January 1964, Zsigmond Széchenyi and his wife, commissioned by the Hungarian government, took part in a trophy-collecting expedition to Kenya to supplement the museum's zoological collection destroyed during the 1956 revolution. In his last travelogue (Denatured Africa), he criticized and analyzed the enormous changes that had occurred since his trip to East Africa 30 years earlier and those experienced on the current trip, and he shockingly brought to life the continent that had completely transformed over the decades, the disappearing wildlife, and the conquest of civilization... Wilderness not only takes you to the region of Kilimanjaro, but also relives in a mosaic-like manner the most significant, sometimes fateful episodes in the life of the legendary hunter-writer-nobleman in the maze of animal and human nature.
