Ahoy! A hike from July 2022 Wernigerode - always a highlight! This town in the Harz has the highest stamp density of the Harz hiking pin and offers countless hiking experiences. For our tour today we chose a 15 km long circular route and picked up 3 stamps: (Stamps 82-84, 138 stamps left to the Kaiser) HWN 34 - Scharfenstein The Scharfenstein viewpoint (462 m above sea level) is located above the Wernigerode district of Nöschenrode. A small stone staircase takes you to the summit, from where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the Harz mountains all the way to the Brocken. HWN 37 - Büchenberg The Büchenberg ore mine. Past historical mining equipment, you come to the entrance of the show mine. The stamp box is also located there on the mining trail. HWN 36 – Peterstein The Peterstein (465 m above sea level) is located between Wernigerode and Elbingerode above the Zillierbach dam. The Peterstein is a good place to relax and look out over the dam. For me personally, it was the most beautiful hike I have ever done with Greta. Despite the summer heat, unexpected rain showers and steep climbs, we had a lot of fun. I will remember this tour for a long time. Of course, Greta has also composed another great hiking song that we don't want to keep from you. Take a look and be surprised! Best wishes, Marco
