"Widows" is a 1976 Soviet feature film. The plot of the film is based on real events, which began with an essay by screenwriter and journalist L. A. Arkadyev published in the newspaper "Trud". Several years later, Lev Arkadyev and Sergei Mikaelyan wrote a rough draft of the script, which was given for revision to screenwriters Yu. T. Dunsky and V. S. Frid, who created the final version of the film's script. Immediately after filming was completed, the film was banned from showing. Only two years later, the Chairman of the State Committee of the Council of Ministers of the USSR for Cinematography F. T. Yermash showed the film to L. I. Brezhnev, who was strongly impressed by the film, and the film was allowed to be shown. Some time later, in one of his reports, L. I. Brezhnev said that it was necessary to show more care for widows, and all widows' pensions were increased by five rubles. If you watch this film attentively, you will involuntarily immerse yourself in the atmosphere. The psychology of people is shown amazingly accurately - different moments in behavior depending on the situation. After watching, you still mentally remain in this movie. Simply an amazing little-known to the general audience picture of the Soviet era. It is worth watching - you will not regret it! Lenfilm, 1976.
