Satirical newsreel Fitil. The purpose of the newsreel was to combat negative phenomena in the life of the country: bribery, drunkenness, sloppiness, bureaucracy and theft of state property, etc. In Soviet times, the newsreel was shown before a movie screening in a movie theater. The first issue of the satirical newsreel was released on June 4, 1962. From 1962 to 1995, the magazine was released in movie theaters before screenings, during which time 393 10-minute issues were released, and then from March 14, 2004 to August 3, 2008, it was released on the Rossiya TV channel. In 1993-1998, Soviet issues of "Fitil" were shown on TV-6, in 1998-2000 - on NTV, in 2001-2003 - on RTR (later - "Russia"). In total, 432 issues appeared in 46 years of the newsreel's existence. 187 new issues were shown in television format. The last time "Fitil" was released was on August 3, 2008.
