It is not decorated with stucco or architectural special features, but when the news of the demolition of Kazinczy Street 55, the former Wichmann pub, broke at the end of 2020, old and young spoke out as one for the smallest remaining building in the Jewish quarter of Pest. Its stories and cultural memories invite visitors to travel back in time and go beyond the material value of the house. In the latest part of the joint video series between Egy hely and the Építészfórum, viewers can get to know the birthplace of the 36-card Hungarian card, the scene of big meetings and evening toasts, the Wichmann pub building, which has now been granted monument protection.
