Well, it is enough to take a look at more detailed statistics, because if we take into account productivity, i.e. GDP per capita, which to some extent is one of the indicators of wealth, it will turn out that all of the last 5 places belong to the eastern provinces of Poland, and here we are of course talking about Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Podlaskie, Lubelskie, Świętokrzyskie and Podkarpackie. The first thing that comes to mind here is the common myth that these are only rural areas, often covered mainly by forests, which is why relatively few people live there. Well, this is not a rule at all, because the Podkarpackie province is inhabited by almost the same number of people per square kilometer as the Pomeranian province, and in the case of Świętokrzyskie the difference is also small because the population density of Wielkopolska is very similar, but Poznań and the surrounding area are much more developed. Many of you probably think now that it is a matter of the history of our country and to some extent I have to agree with you, because the partitions played a very important role here, because if we look at the density of railways in our country, it turns out that in the east there are relatively few of them, but when we look to the west, we can see a huge difference, because the number of tracks is really impressive.
