It’s time for Matt to review the all-new BMW M5! Now it’s safe to say that the new M5 has received quite a bit of criticism since its reveal back in June, but is it all justified? Matt is going to take a closer look and find out. Let’s start with the design, there’s no denying that it has a pretty aggressive look. There’s a huge front bumper with massive air intakes, as well as a large blacked-out M grille that can even light up at night! There are M side skirts and M wing mirrors on the sides, and at the back there’s a crazy diffuser-style bumper paired with quad exhaust pipes! You can even add a carbon fiber roof. Inside, you’ll find a traditional M interior with a large digital dial and infotainment screen. There are plenty of M touches too, including an M steering wheel, M sports seats, and even M pedals! There’s plenty of soft-touch material everywhere, and there are plenty of M features hidden in the infotainment system. Under the hood, the new M5 still has a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 engine. However, it’s also a hybrid now, so when the engine and electric motor combine, it produces 727 hp and 750 lb-ft of torque! But of course, the hybrid system adds a significant amount of weight, as the M5 tips the scales at 5,500 pounds! All told, the new M5 costs around £111,000. So is it worth it?! You and Matt will find out at the end of the review, so let’s get started!
