The Bankar is called a dog that sees ghosts because it looks like it has four eyes due to the two spots above its eyes. The Bankar is an indispensable family member for the Mongolian people who lead and protect their livestock on their journey to find a new home. When night falls when nothing can be seen, the Bankar acts as a guardian dog that protects the family from wild beasts. In Mongolia, only dogs are given names among livestock and are considered family.
