What do you think is the most important characteristic that a person who wants to explain Islam to today’s people should have? First of all, such a person should live Islam completely, be an exemplary person who is admired in every work, behavior and state. In our opinion, the most important of the attributes that this exemplary person should have is compassion. We are the ummah of a Prophet (pbuh) who said “ummah, ummah” when he came to the world. The ummah of a Prophet (pbuh) who said “my ummah” before saying “my mother”; who said “my ummah” before saying “my children” or “my grandchildren”. The biggest share of this “ummah” cry must fall on this terrifying century, the end times. A father loves all his children, but he remembers the sick and the one struggling with death more. His heart beats harder for him. We are obliged to evaluate very well the big share that falls on our century from this “ummah” cry. How? Feeling in our hearts the pain of so many sins and rebellions committed by those from his (pbuh) ummah. We should not confuse rebellion with disbelief. The words rebellion and sin are used for believers. What is meant is not the rebellion of the unbeliever, but his disbelief and polytheism. In fact, disbelief, which excludes faith, covers up darkness, every dark color; it does not show it to the eye. Since sin and rebellion are in question for Muslims... In that case, it means that the person who commits these does not lose the characteristic of being the ummah of our Prophet (pbuh). This characteristic can only be lost by denying it. At this point, shouldn't we think like this? If our Prophet (pbuh) were alive today, how would he treat this rebellious ummah? Would he expel them from his presence, or would he treat them? Would he reject them, or would he give them advice? It is obligatory for every Muslim, especially those who take service to Islam as their cause, to be aware of this... The two branches of communication, “tebşir” and “tenzir”; that is, “giving good news with happiness” and “warning with torment”, should work together, work together, but within a certain measure. Excessiveness in both wounds the heart. Too much fear results in hopelessness, too much hope results in laziness and sin. However, a person who wants to help the people of the century should be free from all kinds of wrong perceptions and destructions of the age. He should get out of the swamp so that he can reach out to someone else. This work cannot be done in the mud... This work may be done without knowledge; we learn what we do not know and convey it to our interlocutor. Or we take him to someone who knows. But this work can never be done without compassion. The one who does not pity cannot come to the aid... He will be without compassion and effort. He will be without mercy and help. We cannot breastfeed our interlocutor unless we embrace him with motherly affection. But we can also kill him from a very long distance... WHY DID THEY CHOOSE ISLAM, WHAT WAS THE REASON? Yusuf Estes et al.. How did Islam spread in Indonesia?
