Lubricant for the seal must be special - in no case use graphite grease, lithol, solidol or any other ointments that are not intended for lubricating the seal in the washing machine. Once, I also used lithol and I must say the machines worked well, but time goes by and over time, powders, spin speed and other factors that affect the wear of the seal change. In general, you need to use only what is intended for this procedure, do not invent and cheapen the repair, believe me, it will come out sideways later. I would like to say separately about the water leak from under the sealing rubber. It is imperative that when you connect two half-tanks, you need to coat the rubber with sealant. Here you need to take into account that over several years of operation, the seal has acquired its shape and when you reconnect the half-tanks, it is almost impossible to put them back in their original place, as a result, if you do not coat the rubber with sealant, water may leak from under the tank.
