Thus, the verb “abdah” in the Arabic language means obedience and at the same time it is applied to disobedience. Thus, we find the credibility of the noble verse on the ground: “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” That is, to obey Me by their full choice and disobey Me by their full choice so that they would be free. As we all know, we inherited from the old interpretations that God created us only so that we would be obedient to Him, based on the Almighty’s saying: “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” But the reality is completely opposite. Today, we see most of the people on earth disobeying God and not believing in Him at all, as if people had gone beyond the divine will.
