In a lawsuit, which could cost more than 6 billion pounds, equivalent to around 39 billion reais, the entertainment giant is being accused of charging abusive prices on the PlayStation Store. This class action lawsuit has as its main allegation the abuse of market power and unfair prices for consumers by Sony. In August 2022, more than 9 million people in the UK filed a joint lawsuit against the company. And it all started when Sony started to disrespect its consumers, excluding games, movies and TV shows from its catalogs, taking customers by surprise, since they had paid to have such content in their accounts and ended up losing out. However, these are not isolated incidents, but are part of a larger strategy by Sony, which is why it is at the center of this controversy.
