It’s time for an almighty German showdown! Today, Matt is in the new Audi S5, going up against the new Mercedes-AMG C64 and BMW M340i! The question is, does the new Audi have enough power to take the win? Let’s compare these cars first. Let’s start with the S5, it has a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 that can produce 367 hp and 408 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission, and the car weighs in at 1,950 kg. When new, the Audi costs around £69,000. Next up is the new AMG C43. Under the hood, it has a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 435 hp and 375 lb-ft of torque. This power is sent to all four wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission, and the car weighs in at 4,000 lbs. It’s a little cheaper than the Audi, at £67,500. And finally, we have the BMW. This is a pre-facelift version of the M340i, but the power figures are the same as the latest version, so its 3.0-litre turbocharged V6 produces 337bhp and 500Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and it’s the lightest car here, at 1,670kg. If you want the latest version, it’ll cost around £60,000. So, the AMG has the most power, but can it beat its rivals? There’s only one way to find out for sure… GO FOR IT!
