How’s this lineup of EVs vs ICEs?! We have the Tesla Model X Plaid in our hands, and it’s going up against the almighty Ferrari 296 GTS and McLaren 750S! All three are very impressive, but how do they look on paper? Let’s take a closer look… Let’s start with the Tesla, it’s powered by three electric motors that combine to produce 1,020 hp and 1,420 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels, and it weighs a whopping 5,000 pounds. When new, the Tesla will set you back around £120,000. Next up is the McLaren. It’s powered by a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 that can produce 750 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and it weighs just 3,100 pounds! When new, the 750S costs around £250,000. Last but not least is the 296 GTS. It has a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 paired with an electric motor, and together they produce 830bhp and 540lb ft of torque. This is sent to the rear wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, and the car weighs around 1,700kg. It’s the most expensive car in the range, costing around £280,000.
