We did not know the current Syrian leader Ahmed Sharia by this name before, his name was Abu Muhammad al-Julani, the leader of the Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group. A name that was on the terrorist list of some Western countries and the US had set a reward of ten million dollars for help in finding him, a reward that was recently canceled. The following interview was conducted by Jeremy Bowen, the BBC's senior correspondent for the Middle East, with Ahmed Sharia, the current Syrian leader, and he asked him about his view of governance in Syria and his relationship with countries in the region and the world, including Iran.
