We are living longer and, on the other hand, the birth rate is decreasing significantly. In this scenario, we have to think: where will we live when we are old, if necessary, and who will take care of us? This is a huge challenge in our society. Generally, we do not think about or prepare for old age. Anything to say? The institution we visited is called REPÚBLICA DE IDOSAS NOSSA SENHORA D'ABADIA. The mission of the Republic is to provide assistance to elderly women in situations of risk and social vulnerability, meeting their basic human needs and respecting the principles of ethics in the care process. It is a philanthropic institution associated with PBH. Currently, 5 elderly women live there, but the capacity is for 7 elderly women. The republic's greatest needs are mainly personal hygiene materials and space.
