I came out to run alone, but ended up running with a local marathon runner. He is currently a 2 hour 13 minute runner, and he says he will run around 2 hours 4 minutes 30 seconds next year. However, there are more than a few Kenyan runners who talk about such big goals and dreams without hesitation and say they will achieve them. No, I have never met a Kenyan runner who thinks that they will not achieve such good records or great success. Where does their 'sense of proximity' come from?
