There are moments in life after which nothing is as it once was. Lana Schmidt experienced such a moment on December 23, 2011, when she received a call that changed everything: "Your husband had a heart attack. Please come to the hospital immediately." But when the mother of two got there, it was already too late - her husband was dead. She tells Talkwerk how she experienced and survived this time. Rebekka Staudinger received a devastating diagnosis early on: she has Crohn's disease, a chronic intestinal disease. She had to go to the hospital again and again because of it until she suffered an intestinal obstruction as a result of a risky therapy. Rebekkah's life hangs by a thread. Paul Görzel celebrates his birthday twice a year. Because the fact that he is still alive today is not a given. In 2020 he suffered a serious heart attack.
