The lecture participants received, as usual in the case of lectures by Dr. Maciej Klimarczyk, a solid dose of knowledge. The doctor talked about the basic symptoms of mental illnesses, what they are and when they can appear: delirium, thought disorders, delusions, hallucinations, depressive mood, neurotic anxiety, dementia and other symptoms of brain diseases. Dr. Maciej Klimarczyk - psychiatrist, sexologist, psychotherapist, graduated from the Rydygier Medical Academy in Bydgoszcz (currently Collegium Medicum UMK) and the Faculty of Medicine of the Universita` di Perugia. He completed foreign internships at Harvard Medical School in Boston and the Bangor Mental Health Institute in Bangor (USA). He obtained his specialization in psychiatry at the Psychiatry Clinic of Collegium Medicum UMK in Bydgoszcz. He specialized in sexology at the Department of Medical Sexology, Center for Postgraduate Medical Education in Warsaw - head of specialization - prof. dr hab. med. Zbigniew Lew-Starowicz. He obtained his doctorate in medical sciences at the Medical University of Gdańsk – his doctoral thesis was based on research on panic disorder. He gained experience at the Memory Disorders Treatment Clinic, Department of Psychiatry, CM UMK in Bydgoszcz. Author of the psychological thriller “Śpiewaczka”.
