When Jörg once tried to talk to his wife about what would happen if things didn't turn out well, she reacted with dismay: "You're acting as if I'm about to die!" The thought of dying is pushed aside. But then, all of a sudden, the doctors say that Carola has to be put into a coma. She never wakes up from it. Jörg and Clara cannot say goodbye. Jörg is tormented by feelings of guilt.
