How can I entrust my whole life to a God who is invisible to the eye? Who lets me go through suffering and pain - despite my faith? Hasn't such a God long ago forfeited my trust in him? Nils Petrat is often confronted with these and similar questions. As a priest in the Catholic Church, he is repeatedly subjected to harsh criticism of the institution he represents. Rightly so, he thinks. In the program, he explains why he still holds on to his profession and his calling. ERF Mensch Gott presenter Marcus Walter also knows such hostility towards his faith from his own family. When he decided to live with God at the age of 21, his mother gave him a choice: either me or God. Faith cost him his home. Nevertheless, he has never regretted this step. How can you still hold on to God despite all the suffering? A legitimate question when you look at Susanne Kellner's life. Her son Jonathan has an incurable metabolic disease that is gradually shrinking his brain. Only with the help of countless operations, medication and 24-hour care is he able to live at all today.
