More than one hundred and twenty years have passed since the death of Elisabeth of the Wittelsbach family, the wife of Franz Joseph, the former Austrian Emperor and King of Hungary, but her person has been surrounded by a great cult ever since. In honor of the empress, often referred to as “Sisi” or the “Queen of the Hungarians”, a dramatically intriguing exhibition was organized at the Móra Ferenc Museum in Szeged, which, in addition to personal objects and clothing items, also includes a large-scale Sisi painting owned by the József Attila Museum in Makó.
