The Nebra Sky Disk is considered the most important archaeological find in what is now Germany and is one of the best-researched archaeological objects in history. The oldest concrete representation of the sky in human history probably served as a calendar. But which culture had the knowledge and technology to produce such a high-tech object around 4,000 years ago? It was previously assumed that tribal chiefs ruled over simply structured communities of hunters and cattle breeders in central Germany. But the discovery of the Nebra Sky Disk has changed the way we look at the Early Bronze Age. The find became the key to understanding a society that was more advanced than previously thought, although it neither knew how to write nor left behind enormous stone monuments. Mirko Drotschmann alias MrWissen2go meets researchers who are currently in the process of bringing this lost world of the sky disk back to light - with many spectacular discoveries. 00:00 Terra X-Opener 00:24 Intro 01:34 What is the Bronze Age? 02:45 Nebra Sky Disk 08:04 Ring sanctuary in Pömmelte 12:25 The Prince of Leubingen 15:36 Mining in the Bronze Age 19:23 Burial mound of Dieskau 22:54 Organized armies 24:36 Battlefield in the Tollense Valley 27:37 Living in the Bronze Age 33:29 Bronze Age clothing 34:59 Women in the Bronze Age 39:15 Knowledge transfer in the Bronze Age Click here for the next episode of “Germany in the Industrial Revolution”: https://www.zdf.de/dokumentation/terr... #xtor=CS3-82 This video is a ZDF production in cooperation with Group 5.
