Part 2 ➡️ • Chepe Train 2021 🚆 Which stations to visit... After so many years, I finally decided that it was time to get to know the Copper Canyon. For that, I started a trip to the north of Mexico to enter the Sierra Tarahumara and see incredible places. The plan: to see as much of the mountains as possible in 7 days. If you plan to visit the Copper Canyon, then your trip will most likely start in the city of Chihuahua. That was my case, and although my priority was the places in the mountains, since I was in this area, I took advantage of the opportunity to visit the tourist places in Chihuahua capital. Given the little time to visit the Copper Canyon along the Chepe route, I only had the opportunity to spend half a day visiting the tourist places in Chihuahua capital. Even so, it was a very well-used half day! This is what to do in Chihuahua in half a day. I started the day with the Chihuahua Bárbaro tourist tram. A panoramic bus that takes you to visit the most important tourist places in Chihuahua close to the city center. On the bus there is a narration that tells you information about these places to visit in Chihuahua. After that I had time to visit the Chihuahua cathedral, which is located right in front of the Plaza de Armas. Very close to there is the Plaza Hidalgo, a place with a lot of history. Across the street I found a very important place in the city of Chihuahua, the Government Palace. This place is a must-see in the city. Not only is the building beautiful, but it also has some incredible murals. The murals of the Chihuahua government palace tell the history of the state, from the conquest to modern times. In the Chihuahua Government Palace there is also the altar to the homeland, the place where Miguel Hidalgo was shot. In front of the Government Palace I visited Casa Chihuahua. This cultural center has different temporary cultural exhibitions. Something very important, this place is also known as the Hidalgo Dungeon, because this is where Miguel Hidalgo spent his last days before being shot. Finally, I continued exploring the tourist places of Chihuahua in the center of the city and ended up in the Plaza Mayor. The place where the famous letters of Chihuahua are found and 3 very interesting murals that are worth seeing. Although in the city of Chihuahua there are more places to visit or places to see in Chihuahua, I did not have time because it was time to travel to Creel. I decided to go by bus to Creel with the company Autotransportes Turísticos del Noroeste. About 4 hours later I arrived at the magical town of Creel, one of the most important tourist spots in Chihuahua. From here I will take tours to visit several places in the mountains, but that is part of the next episode.
