🌍 Travelling to the centre of the Earth is a fascinating adventure that has intrigued curious minds for centuries. Diving into the depths of our planet reveals a hidden world, rich in mysteries and natural wonders. This journey, inspired by the stories of Jules Verne, explores the different layers of the Earth, each with its own unique and captivating characteristics. The first stage of this journey begins at the surface, where the Earth's thin, rigid crust forms its outermost layer. This crust, which can be up to 70 kilometres thick beneath the continents, is home to a wide variety of landscapes, from towering mountains to vast plains and deserts. As you go deeper, you enter the mantle, a zone of semi-solid rock. The mantle extends to a depth of 2,900 kilometres and is responsible for the tectonic movements that shape the Earth's surface. Continuing our descent, we reach the transition zone between the mantle and the outer core. The outer core, composed mainly of liquid iron and nickel, is located between 2,900 and 5,150 kilometers below the surface. It is in this region that the convection currents that generate the Earth's magnetic field occur, protecting our planet from solar radiation. Further down, we find the inner core, a solid sphere about 1,200 kilometers in diameter, also made of iron and nickel.
