In this episode of the Fنجان podcast, we host Majed Al-Turki, academic researcher and head of the Center for Media and Arab-Russian Studies. Our guest’s interest in Russian affairs began in the early nineties. He earned a PhD in political science from Moscow University, and has written more than twenty books on Russian affairs, in addition to many studies and translations in the same field. Al-Turki believes that the vast majority of the world does not know Russia well, but rather knows it through the American and Western media, which portrays it as a fascist state hostile to peace. As for the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, he sees it as primarily a religious war, and that the crisis is not only a Russian-Ukrainian one, but a Russian-Western crisis on Ukrainian soil.
