400 years of cultural heritage burst into flames and half of Børsen burned away on Tuesday 16 April 2024. Tim Ole Simonsen was the first emergency manager to arrive on the scene after being alerted by an automatic fire alarm. He had tried that twice before, without there being either fire or smoke, so he figured that would also be the case on Tuesday. That was not the case at all. Instead, a historically large roof fire developed in a few minutes, and Tim Ole Simonsen was faced with the biggest work task of his life. We follow him into the burned-down Børsen building and review the decisive minutes.
