The release of Flatworld by the promising indie YouTuber Guinxu has given us a lot to talk about, and its music has not been left out of the conversation. Written by the talented composer Alejandro Maciá, the soundtrack has impressed more than one person with some interesting proposals, such as, for example, the dynamic music that can be heard when exploring the exterior/interior of a house. Everyone has pointed out this interactivity, but I don't see anyone talking about the intelligence behind one of the most basic aspects of a soundtrack: the use of leitmotifs. Throughout the game there are certain hidden melodies that constantly reappear, Alejandro certainly showed great mastery with this technique. Sometimes, the melodies are so hidden... that I couldn't even find them on my own. Watch the full video to understand what I'm talking about.
