The level of stress to which we are exposed causes the amygdala to activate much more than necessary, which ends up being harmful to our health. The latest research, however, shows that regular meditation helps reduce stress and increases our well-being. In her talk, Nazareth Castellanos shows us how meditation gives us better emotional health and, ultimately, improves our quality of life. She has a degree in Theoretical Physics and a PhD in Neuroscience from the Faculty of Medicine at the Autonomous University of Madrid. He has worked at the Center for Biomedical Technology of the Complutense and Polytechnic University of Madrid, at the Max Planck Institute in Frankfurt, at King's College in London and is currently directing research for the extraordinary chair of Mindfulness and Cognitive Sciences at the Complutense University of Madrid. Furthermore, she is a popularizer and scientific communicator, author of the books Alicia i el cervell meravellós (children's), El mirall del cervell and Neurociència del cos.
