In this video I review the Märklin Giruno high-speed electric railcar in the complete eleven-car version. I fell in love with Swiss trains in general, but especially with the RABe 501 "Giruno" railcar, after several business trips to Switzerland. From 2026, the Giruno will also be connected to the DB high-speed network in Germany, starting with Frankfurt and then extending to Hamburg and Berlin, creating a continuous connection from Germany to Italy via the Gotthard Base Tunnel. Märklin has produced a 1:87 scale version that currently runs on the Zurich / Milan route. The same units will eventually run to Germany as well. Not only is Märklin's model superbly detailed, but it also has some technical gimmicks that are sure to delight. Unfortunately, the Giruno also has some weaknesses in the model, which I will explain in this video. The SBB RABe 501 “Giruno” multiple unit with Märklin article numbers 39810, 43461, 43462 and 43463 is shown with driving scenes, interior fittings, advantages, weaknesses, improvements made and my evaluation.
