It is the Brazilian public policy that organizes and coordinates all social assistance services, programs, projects and benefits in the country. SUAS organizes social assistance actions into two types of protection: Basic Social Protection: Aimed at preventing social and personal risks, through programs and services that strengthen family and community ties. Examples: social groups, workshops, cultural activities. Special Social Protection: Aimed at families and individuals in situations of personal and social risk, due to abandonment, mistreatment, sexual exploitation, among other situations. Examples: institutional shelters, Pop Center, halfway houses and special social protection services. SUAS also offers Assistance Benefits, provided to specific audiences in an integrated manner with services, contributing to overcoming situations of vulnerability. Suas also manages the linking of social assistance entities and organizations to the System, keeping the National Registry of Social Assistance Entities and Organizations up to date and granting certification to charitable entities.
