The country, which was supposedly governed by Sharia law, began to live a Western life. While rich women and men roam around Europe and America in luxury cars and Chanel-branded clothes, poor women and children, migrant workers, and LGBTIQ+ individuals live a life no different than slaves. It is known as the safest country in the world. Especially since it was announced in 2010 that the World Cup would be played in Qatar, the gossip cauldron has been boiling. The whole world has been talking about human rights violations, bribery, fake fan allegations, sexist statements made by the Qatari government and allegations of bribery given to FIFA, spending of $229 million for the World Cup, and building hotels, restaurants, a metro line, golf courses and beaches for 1.7 million viewers. More than 6,500 workers lost their lives in these constructions due to heat, disease, poor conditions and injustice. The claim that fake fans came from Europe and Pakistan in exchange for 10 dollars, 3 meals and free accommodation due to the lack of interest in the tournament was a separate incident.
