In this episode, Daniela dos Santos Caetano — a PhD candidate in Philosophy of Education at the School of Education, a teacher of Education for Young People and Adults (EJA) at the Municipal Secretariat of Campinas, and a member of the black collective with pedagogical practices in Africanities — brings the definition of the concept of colorism, based on the anthropologist and professor Kabengele Munanga. Daniela highlights that ethnic-racial distinctions in Brazil are based on a hierarchy between white, mixed-race, black/indigenous, with mixed-race people being in an intermediate category, which makes it difficult to raise awareness about being black. As a result, there is a change in the conception of the black movement in Brazil regarding ethnic-racial belonging, and an identity is being constructed that ensures a collective consciousness forged historically. #2danimation #colorism Conceptualization: Production: Juliana Oshima Franco and Asriel Santana Animation: Rafaela Repasch Editing: Felipe Menani Coordination: Patricia Lauretti
