Support Blast, a new independent media: https://www.blast-info.fr/soutenir What if an anti-capitalist vision of the world was actually winning over minds without us realizing it? This theory is that of the latest book by economist and sociologist Bernard Friot, co-written with philosopher Bernard Vasseur. They start from this observation: initiatives questioning capitalism are flourishing in our country, and this suggests, according to them, a total questioning of this system, without this necessarily going through institutions. In their eyes, the beginning of this post-capitalist era can be seen in all the explorations of experiences of companies and horizontal organizations; in the growing demand for true respect for the diversity of living things or the ongoing invention of an alternative agriculture to a devastating agribusiness without farmers. This involves the ZADs and the Earth Uprisings, by experimenting with new ways of fighting, by giving impetus to a reflection on what could be a land ownership that is no longer a domination of spaces and an exclusion of people; it also involves the determination to conquer equality of territories, just like the #MeToo movement with its firm affirmation of equality between men and women, finally, it is also the mobilizations against all resurgences of colonialism that lead them to this vision of the world. In view of the current political situation, this analysis is not the most consensual, but it has the merit of bringing a form of hope to those who think that we are condemned to be crushed by a predatory capitalist system, a policy of intolerance and social violence. With this book, the authors list a whole range of resistance that does indeed exist. It is up to each person, at the end of the book, or of this interview, to imagine the future that seems most likely to them. Salomé Saqué welcomes Bernard Friot on the Blast set.
